We design and manufacture helical torsion springs in round wire with diameters from 0.10 mm to 16 mm and again according to drawings, specifications and / or customer sample.
We use not only specific materials according to UNI EN 10270-1, UNI EN 10270-2 and EN 10270-3, but also special materials with special mechanical properties and high performance alloys.
We manufacture springs according to the UNI EN 13906-3 and/or according to customer’s specifications, with different types of layouts and / or geometries for the transmission of the moment, including double torsion springs, springs with open coils, with right / or left winding and with radial and longitudinal stems, subjected to treatment of stabilization, to shot peening, to treatments of surface protection, to passivation and specific treatments required by the customers.
Technical Specs
The torsion spring is usually manufactured from wire of circular cross section, wound in a helix around an axis and with the ends suitable for transmitting a bending moment, which reacts in a moment of torsion about the longitudinal axis of the spring.
Normally, the design equations are applicable only to torsion springs with crimped ends, guided in a circular motion, not subject to friction. If the ends are not blocked, the spring must be guided by means of a spindle or a housing. The force transmitted to the spindle or the housing, acting simultaneously with the resisting force, produces the torque which generates the moment. The friction which arises in this way influences the characteristic of the spring. If these springs have a reduced number of turns and / or the ends are long, the effect due to the ends must be duly considered.
